After 8 years of saddle raffles for Lost Dutchman Days, The AJ Mounted Rangers are raffling a Sterling Silver Arizona Centennial Buckle donated by the Edward H. Bohlin Company of Dallas, Texas. Ranger John Draper helped his stepson David Marold, President of Bohlin, design the buckle with the Arizona state flag in front of the Superstition Mountains complete with a saguaro cactus in a desert scene. The buckle is sterling silver and will come with a certificate stating it is the first of these buckles and has a value of $2,000. Edward Bohlin, the company's founder, was known as the saddle maker/silversmith to the stars of the silver screen. Bohlin saddles and gear are in the Gene Autry Museum in Los Angeles and many saddles seen in the Rose Parade are Bohlin saddles.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Drawing is Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Lost Dutchman Days at the A. J. Rodeo Grounds. You need not be present to win. All proceeds will benefit youth organizations of Apache Junction through the A. J. Mounted Rangers. Tickets can be purchased from any Ranger. They will also be on sale at the Crazy Horse Tack and Saddle Shop and the A. J. Chamber of Commerce. GOOD LUCK! To review additional items, go to www.bohlinmade.com
